The idea for Chrysalis Keep began many years ago, when Diarine promised the children that someday we would have a Butterfly Ranch.

As we began to become involved with the SCA, and began sharing our idea, teaching our skills, and looking for those who could teach us, we formed a household known as Domus Viator, or "House Traveler."

we began to watch newcomers gain knowledge and blossom. They becoming officers in their local branches. They became Protegés, Apprentices or Squires. Some became peers. Some became royal peers. We had watched caterpillars become beautiful butterflies. We had indeed, found the Butterfly Ranch.

As House Traveler is just that, A house of travelers, either in time, space, or both, we decided that the physical location of the household would be called "Chrysalis Keep." And now, strangely enough, the physical location of a virtual household now has a virtual location on the web.
